Los verbos de memoria 'recordar' y 'acordarse' en el español mexicano

RESUMEN. En este artículo se realiza un estudio de los verbos recordar y acordarse en el español mexicano contemporáneo a través del análisis de corpus con el objetivo de identificar una correlación sistemática entre las estructuras sintácticas, los matices cognitivos y las funciones pragmático-discursivas de estos verbos en el discurso de prensa y el literario. Lo anterior se realiza con base en el marco teórico del syntactic bootstrapping y los estudios de clases verbales. Los resultados revelan que estos verbos presentan una gran cercanía cuando comparten un mismo núcleo semántico relacionado con la memoria episódica, ya que en ambos verbos se registra versatilidad aspectual y la capacidad de remitir a procesos volitivos o no volitivos.
Por otra parte, en el componente pragmático recordar y acordarse desempeñaron funciones complementarias, realizando una división del trabajo lingüístico. Recordar se enfocó en funciones para repercutir en el receptor, fungiendo como mecanismo de persuasión y autoridad discursiva, así como también como herramienta de posicionamiento para el hablante permitiéndole “evaluar” o expresar de forma “objetiva” el carácter de determinada información como falsa o verdadera. Acordarse presentó principalmente funciones orientadas hacia el emisor, permitiéndole expresar su opinión evaluativa sobre algo o fungiendo como mecanismo cortés para proteger su imagen.
