Call for papers: Communities and collaborations supporting open research practices

2025-02-20

Nordic Perspectives on Open Science is announcing a call for papers for a thematic issue in 2025. The theme of this year’s issue is communities and collaborations fostering more transparent and open research to the benefit of society.

Throughout the last decade, we have seen a growing movement in international, regional and national contexts towards more networked communities working collaboratively to increase access to and reuse of research and culture in a way that best serves the interests of the public and academic communities. The editorial board of NOPOS would like to welcome contributions in 2025 highlighting such communities and collaborations. Topics of interest could be, but are not limited to:

  • Open Science communities
  • reproducibility networks
  • collaborations around (diamond) open access
  • work on open educational resources
  • open source
  • open infrastructures
  • co-creation and crowdsourcing

We warmly invite both full research articles that will undergo peer-review, as well as case studies (e.g. project descriptions/experiences) that will be subjected to internal editorial feedback and decision making. For Author guidelines, go to the Submissions page. The articles in the issue will be published continuously, as they become ready for publication; the issue will close at the end of this year. The call for papers for this issue will close on September 15. We encourage you to send in your manuscripts as early as possible, so that we can spread the review assignments and other editorial work through the year.

Looking forward to your manuscripts,

The editorial team of NOPOS: Michael Svendsen, Aysa Ekanger, Mikael Laakso, Liisi Lembinen, Lars Wenaas, Gintare Tautkeviciene
