Beskrivelse: Child Behavior Checklist (CBCL) 6–18 er et foreldrerapportert spørreskjema, utviklet av Thomas M. Achenbach og Leslie A. Rescorla (2001) som del av Achenbach System of Empirically Based Assessment (ASEBA). Skjemaet består av totalt 133 ledd og brukes for barn og unge i alderen 6–18 år for kartlegging av emosjonelle vansker, atferdsproblemer og sosial fungering. Den norske versjonen ble oversatt og tilpasset av Torunn S. Nøvik og Sonja Heyerdahl i samarbeid med ASEBA tidlig på 2000-tallet. ASEBA (University of Vermont) eier rettighetene til instrumentet. CBCL 6–18 består av en kompetansedel og en problemdel som gir skårer for totalproblemer, internaliserende og eksternaliserende vansker, samt åtte syndromskalaer og seks DSM-orienterte skalaer. Utfylling tar vanligvis 20–30 minutter. Instrumentet er utviklet for bruk av fagpersoner med relevant helse- eller pedagogisk bakgrunn og kunnskap om standardisert kartlegging og psykometriske prinsipper. Norske skjemaer og elektroniske løsninger distribueres gjennom ASEBA-systemet.
Litteratursøk: Totalt 17 norske studier som rapporterte om psykometriske egenskaper ved CBCL 6–18 ble inkludert. Utvalgene omfattet både befolkningsbaserte studier (f.eks. Tidlig Trygg i Trondheim, N > 2 000) og kliniske utvalg fra barne- og ungdomspsykiatriske poliklinikker (N = 90–190). Studiene inkluderer tverrsnitt, longitudinelle design og én randomisert kontrollert studie.
Psykometri: Intern konsistens (Cronbachs α) var utmerket for totalskalaen (α ≈ 0,93) og god for de brede internaliserende og eksternaliserende skalaene. Gitt at CBCL dekker et bredt og flerdimensjonalt spektrum av vansker, må særlig alfa for totalskalaen tolkes med forsiktighet, da høy verdi delvis kan reflektere et stort antall ledd heller enn homogenitet i innholdet. Syndromskalaene viste utilstrekkelig/lav til høy reliabilitet (α = 0,47–0,87), med lavere verdier for tankeproblemer og somatiske plager. Validitet er dokumentert gjennom forventede forskjeller mellom kliniske og ikke-kliniske grupper, korrelasjoner med relaterte mål (f.eks. familiefungering, lærer- og selvrapporterte data) og sensitivitet for endring over tid i kliniske studier. Norsk referansedata (2012; N ≈ 2 582) viser stabile, lave problemskårer sammenlignet med amerikanske normer.
Konklusjon: Samlet sett er de psykometriske egenskapene ved den norske versjonen av CBCL 6–18 undersøkt i et begrenset antall studier. Gjennomgangen viser at instrumentet har gjennomgående god intern konsistens for totalskalaen og de brede internaliserende og eksternaliserende skalaene. Videre foreligger det støtte for instrumentets validitet, blant annet gjennom forventede forskjeller mellom kliniske og ikke-kliniske grupper, sammenhenger med relaterte mål og sensitivitet for endring over tid. Samtidig foreligger det begrenset og ujevnt dokumentert kunnskap om de enkelte syndrom- og DSM-orienterte skalaene, og fraværet av formelt normerte norske referansedata utgjør en sentral begrensning ved den samlede evidensen.
