Abstract

Este trabajo se centra en el análisis de quedar y quedarse como verbos pseudo-copulativos del español; es decir, verbos que ni son totalmente plenos ni copulativos (Morimoto & Pavón Lucero 2007). Nuestro propósito es mostrar la diferencia estructural y eventiva entre los verbos quedar y quedarse a partir de la estructura morfológica, ya que quedarse cuenta con un SVoz expletiva (Schäfer 2008) que hospeda un argumento expletivo (el clítico se),y quedar, en cambio, no cuenta con esa opción. Analizamos estos verbos cuando sus complementos son adjetivos (SA) y participios (SAsp.) (Embick 2004), desde el marco teórico provisto por la Morfología Distribuida (Halle & Marantz 1993). Sostenemos que la diferencia morfosintáctica entre quedarse y quedar permite explicar los comportamientos diferenciados que presentan en la forma progresiva, el modo imperativo y la combinación con adjuntos que expresan gradualidad. Adicionalmente, los diagnósticos y el análisis que presentamos nos permiten diferenciar los verbos pseudo-copulativos volverse y ponerse de resultar, salir y acabar
