Documentation of dwelling sites in Hasvik municipality, Sørøya 2017, during the research project "Stone Age Demographics"

As part of the research project "Stone Age Demographics" (StoneD), initiated trough the research group SARG (Sub-Arctic Stone Age Research Group), archaeological surveys were conducted in Hasvik municipality, Finnmark June 26. - July 2. 2017. The work was a follow-up from field work conducted in 2016 (Skandfer and Damm 2019), and consisted of new documentation of previously known dwelling sites, as well as search for and documentation of new sites. The field work was conducted in the Hasfjord - Sørvær and Dønnesfjord/Galtefjorden areas. New sites are Taborshamn, Jakobbukta, Sandvika S, Sandvika V and Sandvika N. Detailed mapping was conducted for the previously unknown sites Jakobbukta and the small Sandvika-sites, as well as for the previously known sites Sandvika, Sarset, Nordre Laukslett and Søndre Laukslett. In addition, more limited documentation was done of dwelling structures in Taborshamn (new), at Hollenderbakken, Lauksletta id.27271, Lauksletta id.17214, og a rock-shelter/cave in Nordsandfjorden (new). Aditional previously known sites were addressed with various results.
