Abstract

As part of the research project Stone Age Demographics, surveys and documentation were conducted in the summer of 2019 in three areas in Sørøysund in western Finnmark: Fella, Vatnan and Gåshopen. Two of these areas were already known to have many prehistoric remains, while few were recorded in the last area. It turned out that each of the three areas boasts a large number of remains from the Stone Age.

This report compiles information from previous descriptions and investigations, as well as details on the present status of these cultural heritage structures and of the landscape.
