Innledning: Circle of Security (COS) har som mål å fremme trygg tilknytning mellom barn og omsorgsperson. COS Virginia er en av to versjoner av COS, og gruppemodellen er forebyggingsintervensjonen fra COS Virginia. Tiltaket er primært tenkt for foreldre eller andre omsorgspersoner med barn der det har vært brudd i tidlige omsorgsrelasjoner, som for eksempel hos foster- og adoptivbarn. Nasjonalt kompetansenettverk for sped- og småbarns psykiske helse, RBUP Øst og Sør implementerer COS Virginia i Norge.
Beskrivelse av tiltaket: COS (Trygghetssirkelen på norsk) Virginia Gruppemodell, er et psykoedukativt program for grupper med 4-8 foreldre. Programmet tilbys som et kurs der foreldrene får en lettfattelig innføring i en tilknytningsbasert forståelse av barns atferd og behov. Målet er å fremme utviklingsstøttende samspill mellom foreldre og barn.
Evaluering og erfaringer med tiltaket:Det foreligger til nå ingen empiriske studier av effekten av Trygghetssirkelen Gruppemodell.
