About the Journal
Focus and Scope
Nordlit publishes articles on Nordic literature and culture. From 2020 the journal publishes one open issue with unrelated articles in the spring semester, and in the fall semester one special issue. We accept articles in all the Scandinavian languages and in English.
Nordlit is published by the Institute of languages and culture at the Faculty of humanities, culture and pedagogy. The journal was established as a journal for the literary disciplines at the university in 1997. Since then, the journal is being published regularly twice a year and is recognized and certified as a level 1 journal in Norway.
From vol. 26 Nordlit publishes one open issue in the spring and one special issue in the fall. In the open issue articles are published as they come in, while the special edition consists of papers from conferences, workshops or papers commissioned by the editorial board.
Peer Review Process
The journal has a double blind peer review policy.
All the articles are read by the editorial board. If the paper is deemed worthy of publiaction and relevant to the journal they are sent to a double blind peer review. This process is anonymous, no names are revaled in the communication between editors, peer reviewers and writers.
The editorial board chooses peer reviers among scholars and colleagues who are competent on the issue at hand in the paper - both internationally and nationally.
Publication Frequency
Nordlit will have one normal issue every year, with articles being published continuously as soon as they are ready for publishing. In addition there will be one thematic issue every year. This issue will be published as a whole number, when all the articles are ready to be published.
