Et helsefremmende perspektiv på foreldrenes psykiske helse for å forebygge omsorgssvikt hos barn
En kvalitativ studie om helsesykepleiere sine erfaringer

Omsorgssvikt fremstår som et globalt problem som kan resultere i uheldige konsekvenser for barn, og foreldrenes utfoldelse anses som avgjørende for omsorgsutøvelsen. Helsesykepleiere har en unik mulighet til å fremme foreldrehelse og forebygge omsorgssvikt hos barn i konsultasjoner på helsestasjonen. Hensikt med denne studie var å utforske helsesykepleiere sine erfaringer med å fremme foreldrehelse for å forebygge omsorgssvikt hos barn i alderen to- til fire år i en tid av stor utvikling. Kvalitativ forskningsdesign og Braun og Clarkes tematiske refleksive analyse ble valgt. Seksten helsesykepleiere ble rekruttert via strategisk utvalg, fordelt på tre fokusgruppeintervju med vignett. Helsesykepleier ønsket å forstå omsorgssvikt, benevnt som den «usynlige svikten». Kjennskap til familien, samt veiledning i konsultasjonene var viktig for å synliggjøre og avdekke risiko for omsorgssvikt. Prioritering av tid og fokus var viktig for å beskytte barnet mot omsorgssvikt, samtidig som foreldrehelsen ble prioritert for å forebygge. Helsesykepleierne bør inkludere foreldrehelsen på to- og fireårs konsultasjonene for å avdekke behov for støtte og oppfølgning av familien for å forebygge at barn ikke utsettes for omsorgssvikt.
