Abstract

Hensikt: Å kartlegge helserelatert livskvalitet (HRQOL) hos personer med blærekreft, samt undersøke forskjeller mellom kjønn og sammenligne med normalbefolkningen.

Metode: Medlemmer av to pasientforeninger ble invitert til å svare på kliniske/demografiske spørsmål og HRQOL på et elektronisk skjema. European Organisation for Research and Treatment of Cancer Core Quality of Life Questionnaire (EORTC QLQ-C30) ble brukt for å måle HRQOL.

Resultat: Av 445 inviterte pasientmedlemmer svarte 146 (33%) på spørreskjemaet. Omtrent halvparten (56%) av utvalget hadde ikke-muskelinvasiv blærekreft. Signifikante forskjeller mellom menn og kvinner ble funnet for fysisk funksjon, kognitiv funksjon, fatigue og diaré, hvor kvinnene rapporterte mer problemer. Størst forskjell mellom personer med blærekreft og normalbefolkningen ses innen sosial- og rollefunksjon.

Konklusjon: Blærekreft og behandling har signifikant påvirkning på flere livskvalitetsdimensjoner. Pasientgruppen skårer dårligere enn grenseverdier innenfor flere funksjoner og symptomer, noe klinikere bør være oppmerksom på når de møter personer med blærekreft.
